The Teachers

Yoga is a path that chooses you & often not one that you decide to follow at once. We all come to yoga for a variety of reasons – often a physical need to stretch or relax. I was no exception to rule and as a mad keen runner from the ‘no-pain no-gain´ school yoga was always a little alien to me.

My first class was a real eye-opener & although I felt completely inept pretty soon I was organising my week around my yoga class, then my day… then my life! Yoga was the one time in my day when I stopped searching to put all the pieces together, stopped frantically planning, thinking, analysing, when everything slotted right into place & I was at one with myself & at peace with all those around me. True union even if just for an hour a day.

In the end the decision to become a yoga teacher was not a hard one as my life opened the right doors at the right time. The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre trained me well through their Teacher & Advanced Teacher Training Courses & I thank them for their message. I have followed a series of courses since including deeper Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Ashtanga Yoga practise. These techniques are incorporated into my classes, teachings & into the retreats and breaks organised. I thank daily my teachers Shiva Rea, Marla Meenakshi Joy, Ron Reid, Sarah Powers, David Swenson, Lara Bauman and Rod Stryker
